About our farm, and the text messages we send

This page describes our business and our operational text-message (SMS) program. Nothing here requires an account or a login to read.

The business

Moore Farms is a family-run corn and soybean operation in Blue Earth County, in south-central Minnesota. The farm is worked by several members of the Moore family together with a small number of employees and family partners. We grow row crops, run our own grain drying and storage at an on-farm bin site, and handle our own agronomy, equipment maintenance, and bookkeeping.

The application

We built and operate a private farm-management application at moorefarms.xyz. It is an internal tool for the people who work this farm — it is not a product we sell, and there is no public sign-up. It holds our field records, soil tests, planting and harvest data, weather and rainfall history, grain inventory, and farm accounting.

Because it contains the farm's private business records, the application itself sits behind a login. That is why this page exists: so anyone — including a carrier or messaging reviewer — can read about the business and the messaging program without needing an account.

Our text-message program

Some of the information in the app is time-critical. A hailstorm at two in the morning, a grain price hitting a target, or a dryer alarm is worth a phone buzzing. For those, and only those, we send text messages.

Program name: Moore Farms operational alerts
Who receives messages: The owners, operators, family partners, and employees of Moore Farms — people who already work here and have asked for these alerts. We do not buy, rent, or import phone numbers, and there is no public or marketing audience.
What we send: Severe weather and hail warnings for our fields; rainfall totals; grain price-target alerts; grain-drying and equipment alarms; and occasional system notices about the application itself.
What we never send: Marketing, promotions, advertising, or anything on behalf of another business. This is an internal operations service.
Message frequency: Varies with the season and the weather. Most weeks are quiet; a severe storm or an active harvest may produce several messages in a day. Alerts are budgeted per category so a single storm cannot flood a phone.
Cost: We do not charge for alerts. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.

How someone opts in

Three ways, and every one of them is a deliberate, separate action:

On our opt-in page. Enter a mobile number and tick an unchecked consent box at moorefarms.xyz/sms-opt-in.
Inside the app. Under Notifications there is a single text-message toggle, switched off by default, separate from every other setting.
By text. Send START to (815) 627-1956.

✓ Always optional

Text messages are never required to use anything we run. Consent to SMS is not bundled into our Terms of Service, is not part of creating an account, is not needed to sign in, and is not a condition of employment, of any purchase, or of any other service. Our consent checkbox stands on its own, starts unchecked, and can be declined or reversed at any time with no effect on access to the application. Everything in the app works exactly the same for someone who never opts in.

How someone opts out

Reply STOP to any message, or text STOP to (815) 627-1956, and messages end immediately. The same toggle inside the app turns them off just as easily. Reply HELP to any message for help, or write to us at the address below. Opting out of text messages does not affect access to the application or to any other service.

Privacy

Mobile numbers and SMS consent are used only to send the alerts described above. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or consent data with third parties, and we never share them with anyone for marketing purposes. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
